Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia surgery is a cosmetic procedure performed to correct the enlargement of the male breast tissue caused by excess glandular tissue, fat accumulation, or a combination of both. The condition may result from hormonal changes, genetics, weight gain, or certain medications. The primary goal of the procedure is to create a flatter, firmer, more masculine, and naturally contoured chest, helping improve both physical appearance and self-confidence.

The procedure is carefully planned according to the patient's chest anatomy, skin elasticity, and the underlying cause of the enlargement. When excess fat is the primary concern, liposuction may be sufficient, while patients with enlarged glandular tissue may require surgical gland removal. In many cases, both techniques are combined to achieve the most balanced and natural-looking chest contour.

Following surgery, it is normal to experience mild discomfort, swelling, temporary edema, and tenderness during the first few days. Most patients are able to return to their daily activities within a few days, although strenuous exercise and heavy lifting should be avoided for approximately 3 to 4 weeks. Wearing a compression garment as recommended by the surgeon supports healing, reduces swelling, and helps the chest contour settle into its final shape. As recovery progresses, the results become increasingly visible, revealing a flatter, more defined, and natural-looking chest.
