Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction

Breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) is a cosmetic and functional surgical procedure designed to reduce the size and weight of overly large breasts, relieving both physical discomfort and aesthetic concerns. It is particularly beneficial for women experiencing neck, shoulder, and back pain, posture problems, skin irritation, or limitations in daily activities caused by excessive breast volume. The goal is to create lighter, firmer, well-proportioned, and natural-looking breasts that are in harmony with the body.

The procedure is carefully tailored according to the patient's body anatomy, breast size, skin quality, and aesthetic expectations. During surgery, excess breast tissue, fat, and skin are removed, while the breast is reshaped and the nipple-areola complex is repositioned to a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing location. The objective is not only to reduce breast size but also to achieve symmetrical, balanced, and long-lasting results.

Following surgery, it is normal to experience mild discomfort, swelling, temporary edema, and a feeling of tightness during the first few days. Most patients can return to their normal daily activities within approximately 1 to 2 weeks, although heavy lifting and strenuous exercise should be avoided for several weeks. Wearing a supportive surgical bra as recommended by the surgeon promotes healing, supports the new breast shape, and contributes to an optimal recovery. As swelling gradually subsides, the final results become more defined, revealing a comfortable, proportionate, and naturally shaped breast contour.
